It's been twenty years since the destruction of Midgar and most of Edge is celebrating the day that Meteor was repulsed from the Earth. But I'm not amongst them. It's actually a sort of a sad day for me because what happened on that day…most of it was the fault of my father and half-brother, so I feel like I don't belong amongst everyone else. Like I don't have a right to celebrate the new start, especially when sometimes I wish things were the same as before I was born. Science wasn't looked upon with as much suspicion as it does in this day…I think. But whatever, it's not my fault.

Still, my friends can't get me to budge from sitting next to the window, reading and watching the celebrations in the street.

A young woman wearing jeans and a sweatshirt walks in carrying a couple of science textbooks under her arms. Her hair is a dark brown and wears it in a pony tail with two strands of hair loose, one on each side of her face. On her face, she wears glasses and her eyes are a dark brown, almost black. Sitting at the nearest table, she puts down her books and sighs and looks around.

Well, uh, hello, my name is Brenna Victore and I'm a biology student at the recently founded university in the city of Edge. My hometown is Costa del Sol and it's much more sunny there than it is in Edge. But I don't mind that because there's better education here.

One of my major hobbies is urban exploration and I love to explore the nearby ruins of Midgar, though people say it's way too dangerous to go there. But it's been years since anything came out of there and I think people are just being silly about it nowadays. I mean, I know bad things happened there and that's part of the reason why all science students take courses in ethical behavior in the sciences, but it's stupid to be paranoid about monsters when there has been none seen for at least ten years.

Uh, what else is there to say about me? I'm 21, I was born after Midgar was destroyed, and well, my mother is a single mom 'cause my father died before I was born. Actually, Victore is my mother's last name and not my father's. I mean, my full name includes my father's last name, but I'm not to tell people who my father is. So I just use my mother's last name which is also my legal middle name.

It's all very complicated, but there's a good reason as to why my name is like this.
